Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIM Kozhikode or IIMK) is an autonomous business school located in Calicut (Kozhikode), Kerala.  The institute conducts a full range of academic activities in the field of management education covering research, teaching, and training, consulting and intellectual infrastructure development.

PhD in Management (Practice Track) 2020

The PhD in Management (Practice Track) of the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIMK) has commenced from the academic year 2019-20. IIM Kozhikode considers management practice as a dominant source of knowledge creation in management science. Consequently, the IIMs see the PhD Programmes as a crucial source of management researchers and faculty resources of top quality both to the academic institutions including IIMs and to the industry, business, government and society.

This programme provides rigorous, world-class, inter-disciplinary training in different areas of business management to equip students with the ability to conduct cutting-edge research of international standard. The executive participants of this programme enrich business knowledge armed with their industry experience and academic exposure.

The aim of the programme is to help industry executives explore research based careers at both academic institutions as well as research roles in public/private sector organizations.

The applications are invited for the following areas of specialization:

• Economics
• Finance Accounting & Control
• Information Systems
• Marketing Management
• Organizational Behaviour & Human Resources
• Quantitative Methods & Operations Management
• Strategic Management

Eligibility:

Academic Eligibility

One of the following qualifications is required as basic eligibility:

• Master's or Post Graduate Diploma (2 yrs) with at least 55% marks or equivalent CGPA.
• Professional qualifications of CA, ICWA and CS with B Com/Degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent.
• B Tech/4 year Degree with 6.5 CGPA or equivalent

Work Experience Eligibility

• Candidates must have a minimum of 8 years full-time work experience after graduation.
• All relevant qualifications mentioned above must be granted by appropriate bodies in India or abroad and recognized as equivalent.
• Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes (Non- Creamy Layer) and Persons-with-Disabilities will be given a 5% relaxation in the minimum marks requirement.

Additional eligibility criteria for the Strategic Management Area:

• The Strategic Management Area require a minimum work experience of 15 years (full time) after graduation. The experience of heading a business unit or company or a large department or functional division/unit is preferred.
• Participants would submit letters of recommendation from Senior Leadership along with their application.

Selection Process:

• Candidates will be short listed on the recommendation of respective areas based on their Profile. Such candidates will be invited for a Personal Interview (and/or Written Test for selected areas if any) at IIM Kozhikode. Limited accommodation will be available to the candidates (on payment basis) inside campus for attending the interviews
