About the Organization

The Royal Society of Chemistry's purpose is to advance excellence in the chemical sciences – to improve the lives of people around the world now and in the future. We are the professional body for chemists in the UK, and an internationally renowned publisher of high quality chemical science knowledge.

About the Conference

This issue will present advances in molecular-level study of atmospheric chemical processes that form our critical understanding of pollutant emissions, transport, transformation, and deposition. Such research is particularly apt given the accelerated perturbations such as climate change, changing emissions (including emerging contaminants), land development and regulations

We welcome submissions that provide insight into the molecular composition and atmospheric chemical processes, which could be based on laboratory studies, field measurements, or models.

Our aim is to curate an issue that highlights novel approaches for sampling and analyzing atmospheric emissions including passive sampling, mobile platforms, unpiloted systems, and non-targeted analysis.

In addition, we invite studies on processes governing chemical fate such as partitioning and physical properties, and kinetic and product studies of gas-phase and heterogeneous (multiphase) chemical reactions. We encourage studies that target the atmosphere as well as atmospheric deposition in snow, ice, and precipitation.

All manuscripts will undergo initial assessment and peer review as per the usual standards of the journal.

We welcome submissions before this date – articles will go online as Advance Articles as soon as they are accepted and will be paginated when the full issue is published.

There is no fee to publish in the journal unless you wish to publish Open Access. Upon publication this Themed Issue will be widely promoted, so you can be assured that your work will be highly visible to researchers in this area.
