Title: Call for Papers - National Seminar on Employment Scenario in India: Issues, Challenges

Deadline: 5th March 2020

About the Seminar:

Among the challenges faced by India, unemployment is one of the important and crucial issues in the recent years. Unemployment is closely linked with various factors like poverty, lack of skilled labour force, lack of human capital, improper government policy & programmes and lack of awareness among the people. The problem of unemployment creates unhealthy society, and unequal income distribution. Further, there are studies, which have shown that crime and unemployment have the strong positive association. Hence, since independence, in India Central and State governments have been implementing various acts, policies and schemes to reduce the unemployment, achieve the higher economic growth and create a healthy society. In developing countries like India, the problem of unemployment and under employment is observed in all the three sectors of the economy. In agriculture sector, disguised unemployment, seasonal employment and under employment are commonly observed. In the secondary sector, the problem of underpaid and unskilled labour force is observed. In the tertiary sector, jobs are not secured and early retirement is prevalent.
