About the Organization:

Quantum 10 (Q10) is a fusion of 10 different theories, frameworks, and practices that together focus on enhancing educational equity. Each can stand alone, however, when they are integrated, they create a strong synergy that can go far beyond their individual potential and become an empowering, holistic approach to address systemic inequities. Quantum 10 (Q10) is a mega multi-tiered integrated system of support that addresses student needs above and beyond academic, behavior, and social-emotional aspects. Many elements in the Q10 overlap and link to other elements within the framework. It creates systemic change through intentional integration. Q10 is Equity in Action.

Quantum 10 Equity in Education International Conference 2021

The purpose of this conference is to expand upon understanding of the Q10 framework, theories, and practices, and move ‘beyond talk’ about equity in education.

This conference strives to transform practice by taking an action-oriented approach to intentionally integrate the elements of the Q10 framework. Your presentation should advance learners’/attendees knowledge of the elements of the framework to systematically sustain equity in our learning communities.

Strands:

The theme of this year’s conference is Beyond Talk: Sustaining Equity in Education. The strands for this year’s conference include:

Instructional Design and Intentional Integration

This strand will focus on integrating the Q10 framework into curriculum, classrooms, and the school site as a whole.

Presentations will focus on providing educators, curriculum coordinators, and administrators with the “how-to” intentionally integrate Q10 elements in various learning environments (i.e. K-12, higher education, county, district, and school sites).

Wellness, Self-Care, and Mindfulness

  • Through this strand, presentations will guide learners to establish a healthy balance between personal and professional life. Strategies may include; integrating elements of the Q10 to guide learners as they establish and/or advance positive psychological and physical health habits, preventing burnout, rediscovering a sense of purpose, and creating a feeling of well-being.
  • Presentations should incorporate the importance of well-being with the implementation and sustainability of the Q10.

Advancing Racial Equity

  • For this strand, presenters will expose various racial dynamics within education and will bridge participants toward understanding sustainable abolitionist, anti-bias/anti-racist (ABAR) pathways for either or all of the following parties: students, educators, counselors, support staff, and/or administrators.
  • Presenters will guide participants to model self-reflection, recognize bias, and ultimately implement actions toward racial justice and freedom through Q10 integration and implementation

Sustaining Equity through Adaptive Leadership

  • This strand will invite educational leaders to model the intentional integration of Q10 elements. Participants will gain an understanding of implementing the Q10 towards creating sustainable systems thus, increasing student access, opportunities, and engagement.
  • Presentations in this strand may include building the capacity of leaders and designing professional learning using the elements

Getting Started with Q10 Integration

  • Join the Q10 team as they get started with Q10 integration! This strand will introduce Q10 to those who are new to this educational framework.
  • Participants will engage with the elements, continuum, and the core and understand how the intentional integration of the Q10 model creates sustainable systems in education

Overcoming Obstacles in Q10 Implementation

  • This strand will underscore the challenges experienced in intentionally integrating, implementing, and sustaining Q10 elements in learning communities. Participants will explore obstacles that educators, facilitators, and community leaders have anticipated and experienced.
  • Presentations should focus on strategies for overcoming these obstacles.

Family & Community Engagement and Q10 Integration

  • This strand will underscore the importance for family/community to be engaged and informed of the Q10 elements through collaboration and ongoing communication with stakeholders.
