About the Organization

Bridges for Enterprise (BfE) is a non-profit that provides pro bono advisory services to social innovators in the developing world. Through our flagship Incubation Programme, we support early-stage businesses with existing revenue and a clear mission to create social impact for their beneficiaries. The services are free of charge — and always will be — as we don’t believe that money should ever be a barrier for social entrepreneurs to receive additional support in scaling their ventures.

BfE is run by a global community of purpose-driven professionals and students. As a non-profit established in 2015, we expanded rapidly to operate from five student chapters and developed a client base spanning over 30 countries. We collaborate alongside a growing network of over 200 professional mentors who provide strategic guidance to chapter teams and assistance to startups.

About the Program

Founded in 2015, BfE is a global non-profit comprised of passionate individuals seeking to empower entrepreneurs like you. The BfE Incubation Programme lasts between 6-8 months. Each engagement is conducted completely free-of-charge by our chapter teams and professional mentors with deep industry expertise. Communication throughout the entire programme takes place remotely so you can focus on running your business at the same time.

What services will I receive in the Incubation Programme?

• Consulting (guaranteed) - BfE Consulting engagements are the first component of our Incubation Programme. From growth strategy to impact assessment, our talented associates tackle your most pressing challenges. (Timeline: 3-4 months)
• Finance Advisory (guaranteed) - BfE Finance Advisory engagements are the second (and final) component of our Incubation Programme. From revenue forecasting to grant writing, our talented associates strive to make your business ready to attract funding. (Timeline: 3-4 months)
• Legal Advisory (optional) - BfE Legal Advisory engagements are an optional component of our Incubation Programme. Any accepted startup can request legal support either upon acceptance into the Programme or before the Finance Advisory engagement begins. (Timeline: 3-4 months)
• Technical Advisory (optional) - BfE Technical Advisory engagements are an optional component of our Incubation Programme. Any accepted startup can request technical support either upon acceptance into the Programme or before the Finance Advisory engagement begins. (Timeline: 3 months or 6 months)

Eligibility

• You are a for-profit or non-profit social enterprise
• You are an early stage startup at the pre-seed or seed stage
• You have an existing product or service and have started earning revenue
• Your business is legally established in Africa, Asia, Latin America or the Middle East
• You demonstrate a clear path to financial returns and social impact

How to Apply

We accept applications on a rolling basis, however we encourage you to apply by 1 April and 1 October to be considered for our Fall and Spring Cohorts, respectively. Applications received after those deadlines will still be considered for the next recurring cohort.
