Community Curator Fellowship for Climate Action

Anant National University in Ahmedabad is launching a first-of-its-kind Fellowship for Climate Action. While it is good that more people than ever before are aware of climate change, the Fellowship for Climate Action will shift the focus from the unprecedented level of climate anxiety we see around us today to offering thousands of people ways to be part of the solution to mitigate climate change. The long term mission of the Fellowship is to create a community – offline and online – of climate change trailblazers who work together and cross-pollinate each other’s work with ideas and expertise across sectors, regions, and generations.

The Fellowship for Climate Action is a one year immersive programme based on a mentor-mentee framework that then feeds into a unique online global education platform to counter climate change. The Fellowship will begin on 10 August 2020, based in Ahmedabad. The Fellowship cohort each year will include two types of fellows. One, those who demonstrate a sustained interest, outstanding transferable skills, and some work in countering climate change. Second, those who are advanced professionals, well established in their domain, and wish to leverage their skills and experience towards solutions for climate change. Fellows who are advanced professionals will need to complete only 3 of the total 6 terms of the Fellowship. This will allow them the flexibility to continue to work alongside. 75% of the Fellowship classes will be held at locations where solutions for climate change are being implemented and at locations that are hard hit by climate change. All fellows will also work closely with a mentor, chosen from an illustrious board of mentors from the world over who are supporting the Fellowship.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and curate a diverse multi stakeholder community of the most relevant people committed to implementing solutions to climate change.
  • Directly interact with the Board of Mentors who are typically CEOs, Ministers, thought leaders in the field of climate change, to keep them abreast of the Fellowship as well as initiatives of other mentors and fellows.
  • Create moments for meaningful interaction and foster relationships between mentors and fellows, as well as between members of the Board of Mentors.
  • Curate relationships between online students on the Fellowship for Climate Action’s online learning platform and the fellows, towards collaborative projects.
  • Facilitate ongoing community dialogue to develop shared priorities for the community.
  • Manage and publish on the social media accounts of the Fellowship for Climate Action.

Requirements:

  • Broad intellectual background and interests with a Master’s degree or equivalent.
  • At least 8 years’ work experience in business, strategy consulting, journalism, academia, international organizations or government; experience across more than one sector welcome.
  • Excellent verbal and written language skills in English.
  • Comfortable communicating with senior leaders across the public and private sectors, strong public speaking skills, ability to influence at all levels, and a strong network of contacts.
