About the Organization
Launched in 2021, the World Food Forum (WFF) is an independent, youth-led global network of partners facilitated by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). It aims to spark a global movement that empowers young people everywhere to actively shape agrifood systems to help achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and a better food future for all.
The WFF serves as the premier global forum to harness the passion and power of youth to identify solutions and incite positive action for agrifood systems. It aligns with the 2021 United Nations (UN) Food Systems Summit, acts as major youth platform in global food governance, and serves as a global think tank that fosters youth-led solutions in innovation, science and technology. The WFF aims to support and grow youth initiatives in the agrifood sector in line with global youth policy recommendations, focusing in 2022 on the theme, “Healthy Diets. Healthy Planet.”
To drive awareness, foster engagement and advocacy, and mobilize resources, the WFF connects youth groups, influencers, companies, academic institutions, nonprofits, governments, media and the public.
About the Event
The World Food Forum (WFF) is pleased to invite youth delegations from all its partners and collaborators to its second flagship event from 17 to 21 October 2022 in Rome, Italy.
The WFF Flagship event, which will be organized as an in-person (hybrid) event, culminates all the activities of the Forum held throughout the year, including the Youth Action Assembly, innovation awards, educational activities, capacity development workshops, exhibitions, side events and cultural activities.
The event serves as an opportunity for young people and youth allies from across the globe to connect on the topics of food and agriculture, providing a space to voice their perspectives, learn from each other and from experts, and contribute their ideas on agrifood systems transformation to the policy products of the WFF.
Delegates should be under the age of 36 and have a keen interest in shaping the future of our agrifood systems through youth engagement. Each delegation should nominate a lead, which will act as the focal point for the WFF Secretariat in all related communications. Minors are welcome with the written consent of their parents or guardians.
Pre-registered youth delegations will be invited for individual full registrations on the event platform where further details will be requested.
How to Apply
Youth Delegations are kindly requested to pre-register their members by 31 July 2022.
