About the Organization

Theirworld is a global children’s charity committed to ending the global education crisis and unleashing the potential of the next generation.

Founded in 2002 by Sarah Brown, Theirworld has grown into a successful non-profit organisation that works passionately to ensure children are given the best opportunities in life.  The first project, the Jennifer Brown Research Laboratory at the University of Edinburgh, continues today, doing live-saving work to discover the causes of babies being born early, finding better ways to care for them - and save lives.

In 2013, Theirworld became international in its outlook and reach, seeking to reach the most marginalised children and youth with sustainable and scalable change.

About the Event

The Global Youth Ambassador (GYA) programme is a connected community of 18 to 30-year-olds, made up of young campaigners and social entrepreneurs united in their passion for social justice and the right to education.

It is a two-year programme that supports young people around the world to campaign for the right to education in their communities, countries, and beyond. The programme has four key elements:

Community

It gives young people a fantastic chance to be a part of a supportive network that shares and promotes each other’s work, campaigns and achievements. 

Opportunities

GYAs will be able to join campaigns and lead their own actions to champion the right to education. Learn about high-level events and decision-making forums where you can influence critical conversations about education.

Building your knowledge

Network members have access to the latest information on global education and what needs to happen to make Sustainable Development Goal 4 of quality, inclusive education for every child a reality. You can find what you need to speak confidently on the education crisis.

Developing your skills 

GYAs are able to use bespoke training that has been created by GYAs, for GYAs. Whether you’re new to education activism, or have been campaigning on it for years, there’s something to help take your advocacy skills to the next level.

You can access this all through our exclusive online platform, where GYAs can discuss their latest projects and initiatives, access training and learning materials, and learn about the latest events to become involved with.

Eligibility

if you have a passion for achieving quality, equitable education for every child and are ready to get involved, read on! You need to be aged between 18 and 28 at the point of applying to be eligible for the Global Youth Ambassador programme.

To get the most out of the programme, you’ll need to have a strong grasp of the English language and regular access to the internet. Complete the short application form to register your details and tell us why you’d like to be a Global Youth Ambassador.
