About the Organization:

SAARC Awards is part of the Global Startup Awards, providing an annual spotlight to those who dare to dream big and shape the way our future will look. Bringing together amazing ideas and best talents from 10 regions, 105 countries across the globe to celebrate entrepreneurial spirit and startups. The competition process for finding the winners involves all aspects of a startup ecosystem by using a network of local ambassadors, country partners, national jury members, international jury members from the entire globe as well as key advisors counting everyone from top investors, political stakeholders, founders and community builders.

SAARC Startup Awards 2021:

SAARC Startup Awards is a regional competition that is part of the Global Startup Awards, which is a global competition that recognizes the best talents of the global startup ecosystem. We start by opening up public nominations on the national level. This means that anyone can nominate anybody just as long as they fall within the guidelines of each nomination category. In order to participate in the competition, the nominee has to finalize their application. Our competition team then goes through the list and gets each nominee to confirm their participation in the awards, so that we can proceed to shortlisting. Together with our extensive national and regional advisors, we work to determine the top 5 nominations in each category in each participating country. Once selected, the top 5 shortlisted nominations in each category will be announced as finalists, who will run to compete on the regional level. Once the nominations are in, we turn to the national communities and ask them what they think. Public voting is equivalent to one jury vote. This is not a popularity contest but it is important that we get an indicator of how the national communities perceive the nominations. The jury members will rank each finalist according to the information presented to them. This information is obtained directly from the nominee. Regional jury members selected by the Country Partners and regional HQs will determine who wins in a specific award. The combination of public voting and the voting of the regional jury will determine the regional winners, who will be announced at the Regional Grand Finale.
