Applications invited for SOLVED Challenge for Youth-Led Entrepreneurial Solutions

About the Solved Challenge

United Nations Volunteers (UNV, India), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP India), and Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports (MoYAS, Government of India) have collaborated for the Social Objectives Led Volunteer Enterprise Development (S.O.L.V.E.D) Challenge that invites youth-led entrepreneurial solutions for Creating Sustainable Agri-Food Value Chain Systems.

SOLVED Challenge invites young social entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs to the launching pad for getting mentoring support and training by experts for becoming entrepreneurial champions

S.O.L.V.E.D. is ideal for individuals, start-ups, students and other innovators who want to bring a dramatic change in the entire landscape of agri-food value chain. Lockdown, shutdown and protection measures induced by COVID -19 pandemic have managed to disrupt the upstream (input supply & production), midstream (processing, marketing and logistics) and downstream (retail and consumption) segments of the food value chain. This has impacted the lives and livelihoods of billions of food value chain actors in India.

SOLVED Challenge is a social entrepreneurship challenge to nurture the ‘Go-to-market’ ideas of youth in rural and semi-urban areas of India that have the potential to scale up and be sustainable.

The top 10 winners 'Go-To-Market' Volunteer entrepreneurship ideas that make the cut and prove their mettle to the judges will receive an amount of INR 1 Lakh to initiate their business.

Also, SOLVED Challenge will try to make sure that the 10 winners should get an opportunity to showcase their ideas at both national and international platforms encouraging others to initiate business in food value chain systems. LAST DATE TO APPLY -- 30 May 2021

Who can apply?

If you belong to any of the below categories, you are eligible to apply for the challenge.

• Aspiring youth entrepreneur with a business idea in agri-food value chain
• Early stage youth entrepreneur in agriculture and food value chain
• College student with a business idea in the thematic area of the challenge.
• Age criteria - 18 to 29 years.
• You can apply either individually or as a team.
