Tuberculosis Programme Brief:
Tuberculosis (TB) in India is a major health problem. Despite TB being a curable disease and free of cost treatment being provided by the Government, India continues to have the highest incidence of TB in the world. Being a mobile population, truck drivers are highly prone to TB. Aligned with the vision to ensure the well-being of its stakeholders - the trucking community - Apollo Tyres Foundation (ATF) initiated its TB programme in 2017. It aims at awareness generation, early diagnosis and treatment adherence, and reducing morbidity and mortality amongst the trucking community. The organisation is also a diamond member of Corporate TB Pledge.
