Webinar on 'Sustainable water security for urban under-served'  co-hosted by Piramal Foundation and CEPT University’s Centre for Water and Sanitation, on 24th November 2020 from 10.30 to 12.00 pm.

Given the increasing stress on water resources and challenges in providing water to all,

  • Can we truly achieve the target of providing universal and equitable access to safe and affordable drinking water for all?
  • What implications does this have for urban water security and the way it is currently understood?
  • Is adequate data available for better governance of water?

These are some questions this webinar seeks to address.

The objective of this event is to deliberate on the issues of potable water for the underserved population in urban areas, its public health implications and its relevance for policy making in a post-COVID-19 world.

Piramal Sarvajal, CWAS- CEPT and Nagpur Municipal Corporation collaborated to conduct a study to assess drinking water facilities in select slums of Nagpur city. The research aimed to explore the viability of off-grid solutions and determine the interest of slum communities in such solutions including their readiness to pay. A CWVI (Composite Water Vulnerability Index) tool was designed to rank slums on various parameters for service delivery.

We invite you to you to join us at the webinar, which will be held virtually on Tuesday, 24th November 2020, from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm (IST).
