Plan India celebrates unsung heroes working at grassroots through the Plan India Impact Awards | Nominations open

Established in 2017, Plan India Impact Awards (PIIA) is an annual initiative by Plan India to honor and celebrate the exemplary contributions of frontline workers, youth leaders and change makers who are at the forefront of helping local communities to bring positive and sustainable change. During these unprecedented COVID-19 times, the Awards will also recognise the selfless and tireless efforts put in by our bold and courageous frontline workers, youth champions, community volunteers, and Samaritans to prevent and contain the pandemic. 

In the past 3 years, the work of 30 inspiring individuals has been recognised through the Plan India Impact Awards. These individuals were credited with going beyond their call of duty while ensuring last mile delivery of critical services and long lasting change in their community.

In 2021, Plan India embarks the 4th edition of the awards, which will be held virtually due to the pandemic. To honour the contributions of exceptional frontline workers and last mile champions, ten award categories have been designed keeping diversity and inclusion in mind. This year, the Awards are being organised in partnership with Global Compact (SDG Partner) and CSRBOX (Process Partner). 

• Category 1: Best Anganwadi Worker
• Category 2: Best Accredited Social Health Activist/Auxiliary Nurse Midwife
• Category 3: Best Child Welfare Committee
• Category 4: Best Young Changemaker (Male)
• Category 5: Best Young Changemaker (Female)
• Category 6: Best Community Volunteer (including COVID Warrior)
• Category 7: Best Women’s Self Help Group
• Category 8: Special Award - Last Mile Champion for Girls Rights
• Category 9: Best Plan India Frontline Worker (Samgra Bal Vikas Mitras) and Other Project level Frontline Worker
• Category 10: Best Plan India Ahana Prerak

The final date for filing the nomination is 12^th May, 2021 with the award ceremony scheduled for 23^rd June 2021. There is an eligibility criterion for each award category, which each nominee needs to fulfil. Once the nominations are filed, an independent jury shall evaluate the submissions and an award recipient for each category will be selected. 

To ensure that deserving candidates across India get a chance to showcase their work, Plan India urges civil society organizations, corporates, social workers and the general public to nominate inspiring individuals, selflessly working towards the pursuit of social and sustainable change in these challenging times.
