Top Grants to look forward to in the month of July 2020

Title: MSCRF Commercialization Program 2020

Organization: Maryland Stem Cell Research Fund (MSCRF)

Deadline: 15th July, 2020

Grant Amount: 270000 USD

About:

MSCRF develops new medical strategies for the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure of human diseases, injuries and conditions through human stem cells. The Program was created to foster the transition of promising technologies having significant commercial potential from Universities, where they were discovered, to the commercial sector, where they can be developed into products and services that meet identified market needs.

Criteria:

  • The new start-up has licensed technology from a University or a research institute within twelve (12) months of applying for a Program award; if the technology has not yet been licensed, a fully executed license agreement will be required within 90 days of notification of the MSCRF award. (A copy of the license agreement will be required to receive any funds).
  • An established company working on a new product or new technology that they developed or licensed in.

Title: Pulitzer Center/Diversify Photo Eyewitness Photojournalism Grant 2020

Organization: Pulitzer Center

Deadline: 19th July, 2020

Grant Amount: 1000 USD

About:

Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting is an innovative award-winning non-profit journalism organization dedicated to raising awareness of underreported global issues. The Eyewitness Photojournalism Grant, a series of reporting grants for freelance photojournalists. The grants will support underreported stories told by journalists historically underrepresented in the American press.

Criteria:

  • Applicants must be freelance photojournalists currently based in the United States and proposals must be accompanied by a letter of commitment from a news outlet with significant reach.
  • In addition to DPxPC funding, they expect news outlets to contribute to the cost of reporting these stories.
  • Applications must be received in English. There is no application fee

Title: SEDA Post-doctoral Research Aid 2020

Organization: State Education Development Agency (SEDA)

Deadline: 20th July, 2020

Grant Amount: 11400000 Euro

SEDA is a direct administration institution which is subordinated to the Ministry of Education and Science. The purpose of the Activity is to develop the skills of new scientists and to increase the scientific capacity, ensuring the possibilities for new scientists to start a career in scientific institutions and with enterprises, as well as improvement of research competencies, renewal of human resources and increase in the number of qualified luspecialists.

Criteria:

  • Researchers who have acquired PhD (doctoral) degree less than 10 years before the deadline for application submission foreign researchers, including from non-EU countries, are encouraged to apply

Title: UNICEF Innovation Fund for Blockchain Startups 2020

Organization: UNICEF

UNICEF works in Across 190 countries and territories to protect the rights of every child, everywhere, every day, to build a better world for everyone. The UNICEF Innovation Fund is looking to make up to $100K equity-free investments (in USD and/or cryptocurrency) to provide early stage (seed) financing and mentoring to for-profit technology startups that have the potential to benefit humanity.  Applicants have the opportunity to receive a portion of funding in cryptocurrency (bitcoin or ether) through our recently launched CryptoFund.

Criteria:

  • Registered as a private company
  • Registered in a UNICEF programme country
  • You are working on open source technology solutions or willing to be open-source under the following licenses or their equivalent: BSD, GNU, MIT (software), CERN, MIT, TAPR (hardware), or CC-BY (content)
  • An existing prototype of the open source solution with promising results from initial pilots
  • Solution has the potential to positively impact the lives of the most vulnerable children
  • Generating publicly exposed real-time data that is measurable

Title: India-Slovenia Bilateral Scientific and Technological Cooperation Program 2020

Organization: Department of Science & Technology (DST)

DST was established with the objective of promoting new areas of Science & Technology and to play the role of a nodal department for organizing, coordinating and promoting S&T activities in the country. The Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India invites to participate against ‘Joint Call for Proposals - 2020’ under the India-Slovenia Scientific and Technological Cooperation Program between the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Ministry of Science and Technology of the Republic of India and the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport of the Republic of Slovenia and the Slovenian Research Agency of the Republic of Slovenia.

Criteria:

  • Scientists/Faculty Members working in a regular capacity in recognized universities/deemed universities, academic institutes, and national research & development laboratories/ institutes can apply as Principal Investigator (PI).
  • The Indian PI should not be retired during the proposed duration of the project.
  • The proposal should include research partners as PI and CO-PI from Slovenian research institutes/ universities with clear demarcation of objectives to be carried out by both research teams.
  • The Indian scientists who are involved in any capacity in the implementation of two or more ongoing projects (not expected to be completed by December 2020), is supported by the international division of DST are not eligible to be a member of the research team.
