Fonds Welternährungssystem (WFS Fund)

The purpose of the Fonds Welternährungssystem (WFS Fund) is to support education and research at ETH Zurich in fields relevant to the world food system, primarily in topics related to agriculture and food sciences.

Topics

Project submissions to this call of the Fonds Welternährungssystem are welcomed under any topic relevant to sustainable food and nutrition security, particularly in the areas of education and research.

Eligibility

  • According to the regulations of the fund, ETH Professors who are active mainly in teaching and research for agricultural or food science are eligible to apply for support.
  • The application must come from the professor; however, the funding can support students or researchers in the group.

Funding

The following costs can be covered for projects:

  • Travel;
  • Visa;
  • Consumables;
  • Services and fees (including conference/registration fees, course fees/tuition);
  • Education, outreach, communication and implementation activities;
  • Meals/lodging (flat rate allowance; for meals, up to ETH Zurich regulations regarding business

expenses, depending on type and location of activity: for lodging, normally up to 90 CHF in Europe, adjusted appropriately for other regions).

The following expenses are generally not covered:

  • Salaries;
  • Entertainment;
  • Fines/penalties;
  • Insurance;
  • Vaccination;
  • Equipment;
  • Software.

Funding Availability

A total of 10’000 Swiss Francs (CHF) is available in this call. Funding that is not distributed in this call will roll over to the next call.
