About the Organization

The RIGHT Fund, established in July of 2018, is a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) funding agency in Korea dedicated to supporting global health R&D. The three-way partnership is between the Government of Korea (GOK), Korean Life Science companies, and Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF).

The RIGHT Fund provides a platform to catalyze collaborations between Korean and international researchers, product developers and public health workers to develop essential health technologies as global public good with the ultimate goal of improving health and health equity globally.

About the Grant

Product Development Award -

Grants up to 4 billion KRW per project are available for projects that aim to develop vaccines, therapeutics, biologics or diagnostic platforms to alleviate infectious diseases with unmet health needs in Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs). Funds requested should be commensurate with the activities outlined in the proposal. The project team must include at least one Korean entity. Collaborative submission between Korean and non-Korean institutions are highly encouraged.

Evidence Generation Award -

Grants up to 200 million KRW per project are available for projects that aim to generate evidence on the current use and gaps in the application of digital health technologies in Global South. Funds requested should be commensurate with the activities outlined in the proposal. Collaborative submissions among multiple countries are highly welcome. The proposed project team must include at least one local institution based in the country or region that the evidence generation will focus on. Collaborative submission with a Korean entity is encouraged but not required.

Eligibility

Eligible entities include academic institutions, public and private research organizations, non-profit organizations, for-profit companies, or other recognized institution capable of supporting the proposed activities and administering grants and are legally established in accordance to the law of their countries.

Please note that both principal applicant (principal investigator) and co-applicant(s) are legal entities subject to above conditions.

Applications will be accepted until 10:00AM KST August 16th, 2022 via RIGHT Fund's Grant Management System.
