Vital Strategies provides technical assistance, consultation, as well as project management, design and evaluation to a wide range of private and public sector clients, in order to further its mission to improve and save lives, including through non-communicable disease prevention, environmental health and urban health, with specific areas of focus in tobacco control, data for health, road safety and air quality.
About the Proposal
Vital Strategies, through “Cleaner Air and Better Health” (CABH) - a USAID-funded project - is supporting the National Centre for Disease Control, division under the umbrella of India’s Ministry of Health, to develop training modules on Air Quality and Health for Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs), Community Health Officers (CHOs) and Medical Officers. These training modules are intended to serve as a resource for front line health workers to enable them to counsel patients and communities on the impacts of air pollution on health, and ways to minimize exposure to air pollution. In this regard, an onboarded agency will support Vital Strategies in designing training modules and translating contents into Hindi.
Appropriately qualified and experienced creative agencies with strong proven prior experience in developing and delivering evidence-based, result-oriented, innovative, and impactful design of training modules and/or communication materials on health-related subjects are requested to submit quotations. Experience in the public health/non-profit sector will be an added advantage.
Agencies are expected to exercise the highest standards of conduct in preparing, submitting the quotation, and if selected, eventually carrying out the specified work in coordination with the Vital Strategies team.
Scope of Work, Deliverables, and Deliverables Schedule Section
Content for brief training modules on Air Quality and Health for Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs), Community Health Officers (CHOs) and Medical Officers is currently being developed by NCDC with support from Vital Strategies. Content has been developed in English, and should be translated and made available in English and Hindi. Training modules are intended to serve as the key resource for frontline health workers so they may counsel patients and communities on the impacts of air pollution on health and ways to minimize exposure to air pollution. The objectives of these modules are to:
- raise awareness about the importance of cleaner air
- increase the understanding about the relation between air Pollution and health
- learn about measures to protect individuals and the vulnerable groups in the community from the adverse effects of air pollution, and to reduce their contribution to air pollution
- guide communication and awareness-raising efforts around air quality and health to the community.
Deliverables/Milestones
- Design concept with messaging options (initially for ASHA playbook)
- Preliminary draft adaptation/ design (this can be for a single module of a few pages) with content in English and Hindi
- Draft training modules for ASHAs, with design and content in English and Hindi for review
- Final soft copies of training modules in English and Hindi delivered*
- Final hard copies of training materials delivered (number of copies to be finalized – please share rates per page (assume 20 color pages total including cover and front matter) and per 500 copies)

Quotations must be received no later than 27th September 2022.
There will be a rapid review of quotations received. The contract is expected to commence by 30th September 2022.
