About the Proposal

In Odisha, CRS’ “Watershed Approach for Resilient Livelihoods of Tribal Communities” initiative is supporting partner organizations to empower rural farm families in the rich agrarian state. The initiative is implemented across nine watershed areas covering the districts of Gajapati & Rayagada in Odisha.  Additionally, we are steadily working on projects concerning land restoration, and climate change adaptation. The project focuses on creating a sustainable model for Village Watershed Committees’ (VWC) and build capacities of project participants or beneficiaries following CRS’ SMART (Skill for Marketing and Rural Transformation) Skill approach. The approach is helping them strengthen   inclusive and sustainable management of landscape restoration efforts.

VWC is a primary project implementing unit in the watershed area. This committee owns the project and is responsible for its overall planning, implementation, monitoring, and maintenance.

Finance management is also a major component of VWCs.

Purpose and Objectives of Video Documentation

Purpose: CRS seeks to hire a video production consultant/consultancy firm to produce action-based videos highlighting CRS’ SMART SKILL innovative approach and SENSE MAKER platform which is empowering rural farmers and their families in the rich agrarian state of Odisha. CRS is supporting to pilot a project on Smart Skill Competency Model for enhancing VWC’s competencies in governance, natural resource and finance management respectively. These approaches are being implemented for the very first time in the Asia region.

This audio-visual asset will be used as a tool:

• To influence key stakeholders like NABARD, 
• Used as a resource for both internal and external communications
• Use it as a training asset for partner engagement
• To communicate with donors
• Casting a vision to influence potential donors

Audience:

• Donor community – GiZ, USAID, WRI etc
• Govt collaboratives – NABARD, REWARD-Project and Agriculture Departments
• Big INGOs and National Organisations (Foundation for Ecological Security etc) working in land restoration
• Internal – HQ - PIQA, SCP3; various CPs as a knowledge product

Scope of Work:

With the above background and project overview, this assignment required for this video production including concept creation, scripting, production, filming, editing, sound (including voiceover for video), and providing equipment that would require during footage shooting onsite in watershed villages.

Deliverables

• Conceiving, writing, filming and editing the video features for CRS’ use
• Production of one master video of 5-7 mins with English subtitles and three shorter renditions of 2 mins each.
• A detailed storyboard/script for each video will be required. Package should include HD digital still photos and all raw footage. Detailed production schedule after getting contract; the selected vendor is expected to capture key events of the project at different location starting from Jan’23 to 31st July’23.
• Creative design (story boarding) around the problem, intervention, strategy, and result
• Translation of Odia language spoken by community members or partner organization for English subtitling
• Scripting in English keeping in mind that the video appears authentic and real to connect the heartstrings of our audience
• Use background score, voice overs and other sound mix as appropriate in the videos 
• Develop the HERO master video and its smaller renditions in compliance with CRS’ brand guidelines, style guide and brand messaging
• Postproduction tasks including editing, subtitling, audio, and visual composition as per the agreed timeline.

• Consultants / vendors preferred location is Bhubaneswar and Kolkata or If consultants /Vendor have their office in different location but have local staff available at Bhubaneswar or Kolkata
