RFP - Developing interactive learning videos for ASHAs under Parent coaching for the first 1000 days programme
About the Organization:
The Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) brings together human, financial and technical resources to address challenges faced by the poorest and most marginalized communities in the world. Special emphasis is placed on investing in human potential, expanding opportunity and improving the overall quality of life, especially for women and girls. AKF is a member of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), a group of 11 development agencies addressing the needs of poor and marginalized communities in more than thirty countries where it operates. In India, AKDN interventions are under implementation across six states.
About the project:
The Aga Khan Foundation India, in partnership with the Bernard van Leer Foundation, is implementing a pilot programme on ‘Parent coaching for the first 1000 days’ which combines parent coaching and improved service delivery for childcare, health and nutrition for both the mother and the child. The design of the programme is aligned with the mission of the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK), emphasizing responsive care and focusing interventions on the first 1000 days.
About the assignment:
AKF India is searching for an agency that can make series of 4-5 interactive learning videos in Hindi for ASHAs on screening of development delays through use of Early Childhood Development kit and milestone assessment for children aged 0-2year as mentioned in the HBYC handbook for ASHAs1
These videos, along with the content that they include, will be scripted and designed by the agency so that they can be distributed to trainers who will then deliver trainings to ASHAs in the various states and districts. The agency may explore combinations of motion graphics, screen casting, whiteboard animations, photos, text, voice-overs, talking heads and videos, as appropriate for the assignment and content
Scope of the work:

- The agency may explore combinations of motion graphics, screen casting, whiteboard animations, photos, text, voice-overs, talking heads and videos, as appropriate for the assignment and content. In case of photographs, agency may need to budget for some time in the field to take appropriate photos for the gaps identified. In case of video footage, AKF may not be able to share high quality videos, and agency may need to shoot footage for activities. The agency may also explore the possibility of using animation to convey key messages.
- There will be one compiled video of all 4 videos. The agency is expected to be creative enough to make all videos interactive for the ASHAs during training.
- The agency is expected to adhere to the branding guidelines followed by AKF team for this project.
- The agency is expected to participate in review calls with AKF incorporate the feedback in the adaptations.
- Two rounds of video editing may be required after reviewing the draft videos submitted in case the agency and AKF feels that something is missing, needs to be revised - first round for checking if edits have been made as discussed, second round only if required for finalization.
Deliverables:
- Share an inception report after reviewing the HBYC handbook for ASHAs and submit final video plan. Develop scripts of all the 4 videos in Hindi (primary language for the video) and English (for subtitles, and to check terminology and nuance). One compiled video of all 3 videos to be submitted.
