About the Organization:

Malteser International is an international non-governmental aid agency for humanitarian aid of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta. Developed in 2005 from the foreign aid service of Malteser Germany (founded 1953), and having the status of an independent eingetragener Verein since 2013, the agency has more than 50 years of experience in humanitarian relief. The organization's General Secretariat is located in Cologne, Germany with regional headquarters for Europe and the Americas located in Cologne and New York City respectively. The membership of Malteser International consists of 27 national associations and priories of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, who are responsible for supporting the organization within their jurisdictions.

Terms of References:

In support of this project, Malteser International is looking for a Consultant for a Feasibility Study. As consultant, you will assess the feasibility of the regional project “Reducing plastic pollution and increasing income opportunities of young women by making plastic circular.” The feasibility study will provide the basis for further developing this project. Furthermore, this feasibility study will be presented to BMZ/BENGO and must take into consideration the OECD-DAC criteria.

Timeframe: The consultancy is expected to take place from 15thof May – 15thof June 2021.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated capacity and experience in conducting project preparation studies, assessment or feasibility studies
• Knowledge in solid waste, plastic waste, environment, self-help approaches, poverty reduction, women empowerment, gender, preferably in Asia
• Experiences working with local governmental and non-governmental organizations
• Demonstrated cross-cultural skills and good communication skills
