RFP - Research to support health policy decision making

About the Organization:

The India Health Systems Collaborative (IHSC) is a growing network of health systems researchers in India. IHSC is envisioned to be an integrated ecosystem of researchers that work in close collaboration with decision makers, public, donor as well as big philanthropic organisations. IHSC aims to provide an interdisciplinary platform for collaborative research to generate evidence for policy interventions on challenges confronting the country’s health system.

Background:

IHSC, is delighted to announce the second round of research studies. The collaborative through an extensive literature review of research articles and government reports published during the years 2017 to 2020, and a structured priority setting exercise, has identified 12 policy relevant research topics to support health policy decision making. The 12 research topics are based on the 6 building blocks (two each) of the health system as per the WHO framework:

• Access to essential medicines
• Health information systems
• Health service delivery
• Health systems financing
• Health workforce
• Leadership and governance

Request For Proposal:

IHSC is looking to engage interested applicants to conduct research within a period of 6 months on any of the research topics. The scope of this study is limited to the territory of India. However, a study may be conducted in a single state.

The specific tasks expected from the researcher/research team:

• Provide a detailed technical proposal with specifying proposed approach and methodology.
• Provide timeline, activity plan and deliverables.
• Team structure and detailed CVs.
• Financial proposal.
