Description of the RFP 

HCL Foundation (HCLF) was established in 2011 as the CSR arm of HCL Technologies (For more information please visit www.hclfoundation.org) 

HCL Foundation Invites Request for Proposal (RFP) from eligible NGOs/CSR implementing agencies to participate under this RFP. HCL Foundation is focused towards developing SHG federations/institutions as an intervention to develop the socio-economic condition of women by strengthening their federation and interfacing them with livelihood activities

Approach of HCL Foundation towards SHG institutions development

Livelihood program of HCL Samuday focuses on income augmentation of marginal HHs by creating institution, their capacity building and livelihood linkages, we are working with 30003 HHs and has attributed them with more than 19000 income generating activities.

Under SHG development project, HCL Samuday works for strengthening of women institution through SHG structure, the SHG/VOs/CLFs are trained on various capacity building modules and are further linked to various income generating activities designed by HCL samuday which has enhanced their participation in decision making and has given them financial stability ,currently  more than 18300 households are being covered by 1600+ SHG federation and 70+village organizations,  more than 4500 SHG members have been attributed by various economic activities like poultry, goat farming, EDP and handicraft activities.

Scope of Work 

• Target: 1 existing Cluster level federation (15-17 VO,100-110 SHGs)
• Project Duration: 2.5 year 
• Geography: any 8 Blocks of Hardoi in samuday project area

Important milestones to be reviewed as per timeline

1. Assessment and auditing of existing SHG institutions(SHG/VO/CLF)
2. Capacity building of existing/new cadres
3. Grooming and strengthening of existing institutions(SHG/VO/CLF)
4. Performance improvement

• Financial flow between SHG/VO/CLF
• Micro credit plans
• Talpat submission (ledger balance) of SHGs to VO and VO to CLF

1. Involvement of VO and CLF in selection and monitoring of livelihood activities

The proposal must include the timelines for achievement of these milestones

Project duration

 The duration of the project could be 1-2.5 years based on year wise outputs and reviews

Geographical Location

 1 CLF with 12-15 GPs, 12-15 VOs covering 120-150 SHGs in project area of samuday, blocks of Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh, block will be finalized by HCL
