Room to Read India was established in 2003 and presently have programs in 10 states- Chhattisgarh, Delhi NCR, Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Telangana, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh. Literacy Program implemented in 9661 government schools, 20,342 teachers trained in library management and reading activities. 17,868 girls benefitted from our Girls’ Education Program.

Room to Read is a global organization transforming the lives of millions of children in low-income communities by focusing on literacy and gender equality in education. Founded in 2000 on the belief that World Change Starts with Educated Children®, our innovative model focuses on deep, systemic transformation within schools during two time periods that are most critical in a child’s schooling: early primary school for literacy acquisition and secondary school for girls’ education. We work in collaboration with local communities, partner organizations, and governments to develop literacy skills and a habit of reading among primary school children and ensure girls can complete secondary school with the skills necessary to negotiate key life decisions. By focusing on the quality of education provided within the communi­ties and ensuring these outcomes are measured, we have created a model that can be replicated, localized and sustained by governments. Room to Read has benefited 16.6 million children across over 30,000 communities in Bangladesh, Cambodia, Grenada, Honduras, India, Indonesia, Jordan, Laos, Myanmar, Nepal, Rwanda, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Vietnam, and Zambia. 

Room to Read global headquarters is in San Francisco, and we have smaller fundraising offices in Hong Kong, London, and Delhi. We have an Asia Regional Office located in New Delhi, a Southern Africa Regional Office in Pretoria, and program offices in Colombo, Dhaka, Ho Chi Minh City, Kathmandu, Lusaka, New Delhi, Pretoria, Phnom Penh, and Vientiane.

Scope of Work:

Room to Read India Trust believes in creating a culture where every employee loves their job. With this we have launched an initiative i.e., Career Planning & Development initiative called GROW (GOAL, REALITY (current), OPTIONS (opportunity, obstacle), WILL (way forward). 

Grow model provides transparency to employees’ career journeys by surfacing advancement paths and actionable development plans. It incorporates competency matrices and career tracks into Room to Read so as any employee can quickly and easily navigate their career advancement roadmap. With this we aim at offering a more intuitive, rounded assessment of employees’ current skills and career interests as well as visibility into next growth steps. By providing employees specific areas of focus and direction, Management Team and Life Coaches can help employees develop in the areas their organisation needs and values to have a positive impact on organisation growth. 

We are looking for an organisation that can help us with the Life Coaches to execute this initiative. There are around 10-12 senior level staff, who needs to be coached in phases. Both Phase 1 & 2 will have 6 staff members. Duration of each phase is six months. 


  •  Experienced coach who has a minimum of 5 years of experience in coaching Middle level to CEO level employees
  •  Separate coach for each coach


  •  Helping individuals to identify their goals
  •  Encouraging them to develop targets and next steps
  •  Providing support and encouragement as they work toward their goals
  •  Helping them recognize when strategies need adjustment
  •  Celebrating with them when they meet their goals
  •  Developing strategies and plans for working with each team member
  •  Keeping track of each member’s progress
  •  Meet with team members regularly to discuss progress and next steps
  •  Facilitating self-awareness in each member so they know the power for change is within them
  •  Building strong relationships & creating a trusting partnership
  • Motivating others & Active Listening
  • Prepare them to move up the ladder


  • Please provide pricing phase wise
    • Phase 1 will have 6-7 coachees, duration 6 months, 2 coaching sessions in a month
    • Phase 2 will have 6-7 coachees, duration 6 months, 2 coaching sessions in a month

Duration of each phase is six months.

The contract will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

  • Proven Ability to meet the requirement.
  • Turnaround time commitment.
  • Customer service.
  • Past work references


  • Infrastructure, including the system for tracking and reporting.
  • Ease of reading reports.
  • Additional services provided. 
  • Quality and completeness of product provided.
  • Knowledge of the process involved.

Area of the Operations:

The operations will be conducted all over India especially at the functional area of Room to Read India Trust. Presently we are operating in various states of India like, Telangana, Karnataka, Chhattisgarh, New Delhi, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. Room to Read India Trust may plan to add few more states for implementation of its program in future that will also include in the same as and when we communicate it to Vendor.

For the purpose of this assignment, we only expect the Coach to conduct the Foundation Session in-person, rest of the session can be done in an online format.

*if the covid situation continues all sessions including the foundation session will be conducted online.

Payment terms:

Payment will be processed after 15 working days of original invoice submission.
