About the Organization:

Environmental Management Centre LLP (EMC) was established in 1996. Dr. Prasad Modak founded EMC when he left Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay in 1995 where he was faculty at the Centre for Environmental Science and Engineering (CESE) from 1984. EMC has grown from a handful of team members to a larger group of professionals working for the three entities of EMC LLP and Ekonnect.

Responsibilities:

• Business Development and Client Management
• Ability to lead and manage the internal team
• Client Engagement
• Project Management & delivery
• Will involve travel across India, some locations being remote.
• Preparing project reports
• Support to company administration

Qualification:

• Master’s in environmental engineering/ Planning/ Science with a bachelor’s in chemical or Civil Engineering is preferable.
• Master’s in environmental engineering/ Planning/ Science with a Bachelors in Life Sciences may also apply

Experience:

• 8-12 years’ experience as a Consultant in conduct of Environmental and Social Due Diligence in conformance to IFC Performance Standards and other international Safeguards.
• Must have good experience in implementing environmental and social management systems, understanding of occupational health and safety requirements.
• Thorough knowledge of Indian Regulatory requirements and international environmental and social safeguards / frameworks such as IFC Performance Standards, World Bank EHS guidelines, Equator Principles etc.
• Demonstrated experience in conduct of project-level environmental and social assessment and related types of studies, such as environmental & social management frameworks, environmental and social due diligences, and impact assessments.
• Additional experience in development of project-specific Environmental and Social Action Plans, knowledge of technical SOPs and good international industry practices. Experience on  training content development and delivery  would be an advantage
