UN agencies in India are mandated to prepare their Business Continuity Plan which will reflect an all-hazards approach including the worst-case scenario to recover from a crisis event that may disrupt regular programme and operations, integrating crisis management and IT disaster recovery. The BCPs will provide details of crisis management and decision-making processes following a disaster and/or crisis event. It will also identify the critical staff, functions and processes to ensure continuation of critical services and operational processes.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Guide the UN agencies on the preparation of their BCPs.
- Draft the UN-wide BCP in consultation with the OMT. It will also include providing technical assistance to the agencies leading to the development of a common strategy for continuity of business during a crisis scenario like fire, civil strike and disaster, etc.
- Review the existing UNDP BCP and expand it develop the UN House BCP considering various crises.
- Help in testing the BCPs considering a specific crisis scenario and submit the test report.
Required Skills and Experience
Academic Qualification: Post Graduate with experience of working on Business continuity planning in different settings.
Professional Experience: Candidate should have minimum ten years of experience in the field of crisis management and business continuity planning.
Language Requirement- English
Timeframe: 40 days (spread over four months), i.e. March and June
Reporting and Supervision: The consultant will work in close collaboration with the OMT chair/ her representative and RCO.
