Job Position: Manager - Waste Management and Circular Economy
Locations: Ahmedabad
No. of Position: 1
CTC: ₹12 LPA - ₹13.80 LPA (Depending on the relevant experience)
About the Position:
BharatCares seeks an experienced Manager – Waste Management and Circular Economy to lead the design and implementation of innovative, sustainable urban waste management programs through corporate (CSR) and philanthropic partnerships. The candidate will leverage their knowledge of waste management solutions, technologies, and the circular economy framework to establish impactful collaborations and drive scalable programmatic interventions with a solution-centric approach. The candidate will also lead a team of domain experts to develop and execute large-scale, impactful programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of domain experts to create a larger programmatic canvas.
- Identify, conceptualize, and develop sustainable urban waste management and circular economy projects aligned with BharatCares’ mission and objectives.
- Engage with businesses and philanthropic organizations to mobilize resources and support under CSR and ESG initiatives.
- Conduct research and mapping of best practices, technologies, and innovative solutions in waste management to inform program design.
- Develop detailed proposals, concept notes, presentations, and implementation plans for potential CSR and philanthropic partnerships.
- Liaise closely with municipal bodies, government departments, and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with policy frameworks and leverage relevant government schemes.
- Monitor and evaluate program outcomes, ensuring effective documentation and reporting to stakeholders.
- Provide technical guidance and capacity-building support internally and externally to promote effective and sustainable waste management practices.
- Actively participate in sectoral networks, forums, and working groups to advocate for improved waste management and circular economy practices.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Postgraduate degree in Environmental Science, Waste Management, Sustainability, or related fields.
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in urban waste management, circular economy solutions, and sustainability initiatives.
- Proven experience in designing and managing projects involving waste management, recycling, resource recovery, and circular economy.
- Strong understanding of the policy, regulatory, and institutional framework governing waste management in India.
- Demonstrated ability to establish partnerships and manage relationships with corporate CSR teams, donors, governmental agencies, and community stakeholders.
- Exposure to various waste management technologies and solutions with a strong solution-centric mindset.
Skills and Competencies:
- Excellent project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to think strategically, coupled with practical on-ground project implementation skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of clearly articulating complex ideas to diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in documentation, proposal writing, and reporting.
- Fluency in English and Hindi; proficiency in additional regional languages is advantageous.
