BharatCares (CSRBOX Foundation) is the social impact arm of CSRBOX and its allied organisations. BharatCares has been working on a few flagship initiatives in education, employability and entrepreneurships. We have a hybrid mode of social impact projects to ensure we optimally use the donor resources and get the best impact possible. As an organisation we are entering our growth phase where we want to impact 25000 families and 100,000 individuals by 2025. We are a neo-culture social impact organisation and we believe in being frugal, innovative and value-driven.

About the Position

BharatCares seeks to onboard Manager-Growth and Impact  to chart out our program and partnerships trajectory beyond 2021. The selected candidate will work closely with the top management, Manager-Programs and Communications team to understand the SWOT matrix of the organisation and bring in new perspective, ideas and action-plan to give momentum to our mission for impacting more lives.

Purpose of the Role:

  • To be responsible for identifying and actualising resources for future impacts and building relationships in India
  • To plan, design and execute ‘Growth Plan’ for the organisation
  • To lead the cohesive team of professionals from program , marketing and communication teams

Role & Responsibilities:

Strategy and Execution Plan (20%)

  • To work with the top management and program team on short term, mind term and mong term strategy and action plan for building a solid base for the organisation’s work towards impacting lives
  • To design and develop core strategy documents for the organisation
  • To leverage the power of network of CSRBOX to work towards building an impact-drive non-profit brand

Partnership Development & Relationship Management (40%)

  • Identifying potential funding opportunities and building a strong pipeline of relevant and interested partners through internet research
  • Reaching out to the pipeline of partners through cold calling, cold emailing, conferences/events, and seeking and setting up meetings to further the dialogue
  • Studying requests for proposal (RFPs) and preparing customized proposals by gathering information and data, writing, revising, editing, and formatting drafts; obtaining approvals; and ensuring their timely submission
  • Traveling to various cities to attend meets/events/conferences to interact with CSR funding organisations, High Net-Worth Individuals (HNIs), philanthropists, NGOs, government officials, etc.
  • Proactively engaging with potential funders / CSR bodies, building relationships, maintaining personal networks, and being a self-starter for creating new projects and relationships

Knowledge Building  and Brand Identity (20%)

  • Developing, maintaining, and updating knowledge of the organization and the education ecosystem in India by proactively participating in educational opportunities and one's own learning and development
  • To work towards brand building for the non-profit

Proposal Writing (20%)

  • Writing customized proposals and support material, including material for fundraising in general like one-pagers and slide decks
  • Identifying grant funding opportunities and end-to-end anchoring of the grant application process

Qualification and Experience

  • A post-graduate with a good academic record
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in non-profit sector/social business operations in India, of which at least 2 years in education or entrepreneurship related to non-profit or enterprise.
  • Current knowledge of development issues, strategies, as well as programming policies and procedures in international development cooperation
  • Proven ability to conceptualize, innovate, plan and execute ideas, as well as to impart knowledge and teach skills
  • Demonstrated engagement with diverse donors and development partners
  • An effective and energetic team player, with the ability to work in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment
  • Strong self-motivation and innovative skills, with capacity to work independently and meet deadlines.


  • Understanding of CSR and philanthropic ecosystem in India
  • Have been engaged in donor facing role for at least 2 years
  • Excellent reading and persuasive writing communication skills in English
  • Expertise in PowerPoint / creating slide decks, formatting and editing in MS-Word, and proficiency in MS- Excel
  • Excellent proposal writing, presentation, and oral communication skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate the organization's mission, vision, and theory of change to funders / potential leads
  • Very strong relationship building skills, interpersonal, persuasive and negotiation skills
  • Ability to take leadership in ambiguous situations, even when unsupervised
  • Forward looking thinker, who actively seeks opportunities and proposes solutions
