Job Description

IREX is seeking a pool of Master Trainers in New Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, or Mumbai, with connections to youth networks and a foundational understanding of media literacy or related fields, such as journalism, fact-checking, or education. Selected trainers will participate in online training to prepare them to facilitate media literacy sessions and conduct in-person training of trainers (ToT) for program participants within their cities.

Online training sessions will occur in February and early March, followed by in-person ToT sessions in late March in each project city. After ToT, facilitators will hold office hours to support Youth Trainers and participate in monthly learning exchanges at local American Spaces.

Job Responsibilities

  • Proactively promote the call for youth trainer applications through established networks, WhatsApp groups, and partner NGOs/colleges to ensure the recruitment of motivated participants.
  • Participate in the selection process and provide a final list of recommended candidates.
  • Offer ongoing mentorship and engagement to the L2D-India community through office hours, WhatsApp groups and other online platforms.
  • Collaborate with the IREX team to source and organize local language examples for the training handbook and assist with final proofreading.
  • Facilitate both online training sessions and in-person Training of Trainers (ToT) sessions.
  • Co-lead four in-person peer learning exchanges to encourage youth participants to reflect on their community training experiences and online campaigns.
  • Adapt to varying tasks based on project needs, district-specific requirements, and individual trainer expertise.

L2D-India II aims to select one candidate from each of the five listed cities. Selected candidates must be able to commit to the full engagement period, estimated to cover 15 days from December 2024 - September 2025. The exact number of days may vary slightly between districts depending on project/participant needs, with potential adjustments based on project needs.
