Program Leader - Donor Management

 

Job Summary: Your major purpose will be to develop high quality grant applications, proposals, complete due diligence processes, network with potential donors and grow existing donor portfolio and relationship. This will also include engaging with internal stakeholders from program and finance teams to ensure hygiene of existing partnerships including project performance tracking.  The role will provide the candidate an opportunity to develop people skills, network with more than 100 development sector professionals and hone his/her writing skills under the senior leadership of the organization. Knowledge of MS Office, proficiency in English/Hindi, excellent writing skills is a must for this role. 

Key Responsibilities

 Execute Fundraising Activities

• Develop well-articulated business documents/presentations – Concept note, budgets, proposals, etc.
• Actively identify and pursue business development opportunities in line with organizational vision
• Effectively communicate organization’s change initiatives to potential funders by facilitating program visits on field, organizing recurring interactions etc.
• Align internal stakeholders towards establishing a partnership
• Onboard senior leadership to develop winning proposals that align with donor needs
• To develop a good relationship with existing and new donors to increase business, discuss requirements, capable of doing negotiations.

Manage existing donor accounts

• Deliver quality and timely reports – financial and programmatic by collaborating with Finance and Operations teams
• Conduct field/programmatic visits to track project progress
• Actively solve day-to-day queries/problems of the donors
• Establish and implement a governance system to map/track financial and programmatic progress
• Enhance scope of partnership with active funders by communicating the evolving organizational vision which aligns with the donor’s strategic interests
• Pre-emptively preparing an action plan to address the donor’s evolving needs
• Review, strategize and execute customized strategy to exceed donor expectations year-on-year.

Key Performance Indicators

• Build grant proposals and create SOPs for proposal writing
• Execute business development and outreach activities
• Delivery of quality and timely reports – programmatic and financial
• Management of field visits according to the donor objectives
• Development of high-quality business material for maintenance, enhancement and acquisition of donor partners
• Swift and efficient response to all the queries of the donor partners
• Alignment of internal stakeholders with evolving need of the donors

Education and Experience

• Graduation in any stream is a must.
• Minimum experience 2 to 6 + years
• Experience working in dynamic work environments with substantive dose of ambiguity
• Experience in business development would be added

Skills & Knowledge

• Content writing/print media background and excellent English and MS office skills
• Excellent proposal writing and documentation skills
• Excellent oral and written communication (Proficiency in Hindi/English is a must)
• Excellent Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PPT) knowledge and demonstrated experience
• Deep observational and listening
• Critical thinking and problem-solving
• Collaboration with multiple internal/external stakeholders (individual and teams)
• Ability to work with C-level executives to engage them in the fundraising process
• Ability to work in high-ambiguity environment
• Ability to strike balance and move forward to achieve the desired outcome
• Content writing and/or business development experience will be a plus
