Job Description

• Effective contribution to discover, isolate, and characterize novel classes of bioactives/secondary metabolites from targeted microbial resources
• Establish natural product extraction, isolation, separation and purification pipelines for a diverse set of microbial resources and feedstock
• Design, develop and optimization of chemistry workflows for natural pigmented/coloured molecules purification and characterization is strongly preferred
• Assist with the design of streamlined bioactives identification and de-replication strategies
   Potential to work with a Natural Product Chemistry team based at TERI, India and Deakin University, Australia
• Development of bioassays, execute plans for cultivation and product fermentation with active strains
•  Support multiple internal and external projects through applications of different chemical techniques

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• B.Sc.-M.Sc. (Organic Chemistry)/M. Pharma (Pharmacognosy) and Ph.D. in natural product chemistry or at least 3 years of relevant industry experience
• Hands-on proficiency required on Separation (Chromatographic-Flash- Prep)- Analytical (HPLC/LC-MS/MS) and Spectroscopic techniques (NMR- IR- CD- HR-MS)
• Chemical structure database query and extensive knowledge of structure elucidation of isolated molecules

Experience

• 1 - 3 Years

Skills

• Proficiency in developing analytical and preparative HPLC and LC-MS methods
• Proficiency in chemical structure elucidation
• Hands-on knowledge of Microbiology techniques (cultivation of fungi and bacteria)- fermentation and downstream processing.
