Job Description

he Indian School of Public Policy is looking to hire a talented, creative and committed lead for our Communications, Outreach, and Marketing function. This is a full time position, and will require the candidate to work from our office in New Delhi. As a young institution providing world class education in the field of Public Policy, we are looking for a candidate who can both lead the marketing efforts and leverage on our communication channels to increase the brand visibility of ISPP.

The ideal candidate would be an energetic individual who has immaculate written and verbal communications skills, has experience designing and executing marketing campaigns, and effective management skills. The selected candidate will lead the admissions marketing process end to end, manage all our communication channels, work towards building brand ISPP, and manage donor relations. We are looking for a candidate with the technical skills required to take on marketing and communications tasks themselves, as well as manage and nurture a team of young communications professionals.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities and deliverables would include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Develop an overarching communications strategy based on branding objectives and marketing requirements.
  • Drive the marketing efforts for admissions - from identifying high potential marketing channels to ensuring application completion. We expect the candidate to utilise retargeting using Facebook Pixels / Google Tags, create effective email funnels through mailchimp, create image / carousel / stories ads, effectively target high potential candidates, and create persuasive content that can enable conversions.
  • Manage ISPP’s digital outreach channels - Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter, Instagram and newsletters. We expect the candidate to maintain a social media calendar, ensure the quality of posts, design content strategy for different channels, ensure ISPP events are highlighted online, and periodically engage with our online audience.
  • Work towards positioning the ISPP brand as a torchbearer in the field of Public Policy education. We expect the candidate to enable the publication of articles written by ISPP scholars / faculty in reputed publications, and ensure coverage of ISPP events.
  • Work with external vendors and other departments towards completing the deliverables in a timely and efficient manner. The Marketing and Communications Manager will be the primary point of contact for our graphics design and website vendor. We expect the candidate to repackage the information provided by various departments towards creating impactful content, within the required time frame.
  • Provide communications and design support for other departments. We expect the candidate to have a working knowledge of designing tools like Canva / Photoshop.
  • Lead and execute all of ISPP’s admissions outreach activities including organising webinars, and offline interaction events.
  • Create new avenues of co-branded collaboration with organisations in the public policy space
  • Organise brand promotion events (conferences,round tables, seminars etc) to generate brand awareness

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

  • 7-10 years work experience in marketing and communications (preferably in education)
  • Demonstrable track record of meeting marketing deliverables and impeccable written / verbal communication skills

Desired qualities and competencies

  • Comfortable working in a non-hierarchical start-up environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Familiarity with Zoom and other communication platforms.
  • Able to communicate cordially and effectively with vendors
  • Comfortable with a flexible schedule, working during weekends during peak admissions season
  • High degree of expertise in digital media platforms, and has experience executing extensive online marketing activities
  • Has a good degree of proficiency using spreadsheets (Excel / Google Sheets) and presentations, is able to analyse data and create reports
