JOB PROFILE
The Fundraiser’s role will require a close working relationship with the Head - Development
and partnerships (India) of other Program teams of Barefoot College International. You will
be responsible for developing innovative strategies to secure funding from Private Sector
CSR, trusts, foundations and institutions. You will be expected to seek new funding
opportunities, develop grant proposals and manage successful grants. We expect the
fundraiser to develop and deliver within a specified timeframe.
JOB RESPONSIBILITY
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Develop a deep understanding of the programmatic areas and the global business
strategy of Barefoot College International
• Work collaboratively with other fund raising staff and Head - Development and
partnerships (India), to develop and implement fundraising strategies for Barefoot
College International
• Seek new funding opportunities accordingly - writing to new CSRs and searching new
Grants opportunities
• Develop new donors. Build relationships with Trusts, Foundations, institutional
donors, Private Sector CSR and high profile and high net worth individuals; •
Maximize fundraising opportunities and financial returns;
• Develop grant proposals and manage successful grants;
• Organize off line and online events and to develop and manage relationships with
donors;
• Monitor developments and trends in digital fundraising. Attend networking events
and meetings with potential donors;
• Ensure fundraising practices are compliant with regulatory standards;
• Contribute to overall strategic and financial planning as required.
SKILLS
• Excellent networking skills to represent the organisation at high profile events, with
high net worth individuals, Corporations and Government Offices.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders,
including donors, staff, board members and external partners.
• Innovation skills: ideate and implement strong new ideas to achieve fundraising
targets.
• Proven ability of using analytics to inform and influence decision-making.
• Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to manage a complex, varied
workload, able to plan and prioritise tasks.
• Expert level written and verbal communication skills to deal effectively, efficiently and
appropriately with internal and external audiences;
• Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion;
• Demonstrated ability to achieve high performance goals and meet deadlines in a fast
paced environment.
• Budget Management skills to be able to work effectively with limited resources.
• Good IT skills, proficient with MS Office and Fund Raising Software.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Masters in any subject, preferably in Development studies.
• 3-5 years of experience in fundraising for Development Sector organisations.
• Understanding of fundraising practices, codes of conduct and legislation.
• Excellent understanding of mid and high value fundraising progammes.
• A demonstrable track record of developing and managing relationships with donors.
• Experience of working collaboratively with members of a fundraising team and across
departments.
• Experienced in working in a team whilst managing personal deadlines.
Added Advantage.
• Experience in digital fundraising techniques.
• Experience of maintaining a fundraising database and using software like Sales Force,
CRM systems and digital marketing tools.
• Experience of working in a complex, global organization.
