Job Description
Field work on animal population estimation occupancy habitat parameters, behavior, ranging. Analysis of data and report writing. Coordinating team activities. Work will be both at HQ in Dehradun and field stations with several field visits to forest interiors, wildlife areas and arduous terrains across India.
Coordinate in-situ conservation activities, assist in data analysis and report/paper preparation
Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience
- Masters degree in Wildlife Science/ Botany/ Zoology/Forestry/Forest Management/Conservation Biology/ Life Sciences/Environmental Sciences/ Environmental
- Management/Agricultural Sciences/ Bachelors or Masters degree in Veterinary Science/Veterinary Medicine/Animal Science from a recognized University and Four years’ experience of working on a wildlife research/ conservation project
OR
- PhD in Wildlife Sciences/Environmental Science or Management / Zoology / Life Sciences / Forestry/ Conservation Biology/ Veterinary Sciences in relevant topic.
Desirable Qualifications
- Candidate with prior experience in implementing field research and conservation project works, preferably on grassland species, good understanding of sampling design and animal abundance estimation and conversant with PHVA, demography models and species distribution modeling, knowledge of software like MARK, DISTANCE, VORTEX, SECR and MAXENT, able to do field work in harsh condition will be given preference.
- Proficiency in using computers and good writing (in English language), analytical and communication skill. Publications are desirable.
Salary
Rs. 42,000/- + HRA & NPA as applicable
