Job Description

The Sr. Program Program Manager, Social Responsibility, will develop and execute strategies to support Amazon businesses in advancing our global Responsible Sourcing program and human rights strategies. S/he will engage with cross-functional teams to uphold labor and human rights in the supply chain and promote sustainable livelihoods.

Job Responsibilities

Develop Sustainability/SR Programs for Amazon WW and IN PB Suppliers

  • Partner with the sustainability teams to develop strategy, technical direction and programs for social responsibility.
  • Explore, develop and drive SR programs within the business that deliver the optimum combination of social impact outcomes and business benefits – driving innovation, value creation and competitive advantage for Amazon.
  • Keep abreast with industry wide issues and best practices, and constantly enhance and/or build most appropriate proactive initiatives to affect positive change.

Management of SR program with the business

  • Provide leadership, strategy, technical direction to our business partners; critical ones include WW PB and IN PB.
  • Advise business teams on key SR issues that might impact sourcing or production plans, and provide appropriate recommendations.
  • Educate business teams on SR issues and best practices to enable them to effectively implement programs and policies.
  • Engage with key business partners to ensure ongoing support of SR within the business.
  • Drive program objectives by ensuring issues are accurately identified, addressed, resolved and documented within designated time frame.
  • Execute strong program management for SR and business team members, outlining key roles and responsibilities.

Partnership with internal and external stakeholders

  • Key contributor to the development/review of overall SR strategies and policies in South Asia and other countries needing additional mechanisms to drive successful execution of objectives.
  • Contribute to the organizational planning to achieve short & long term departmental and business partner goals in the region
  • Establish positive collaborative relationships and workflow processes with cross functional teams, including SR internal team, business functions, legal, PR, other regions’ SR, etc.
  • Establish working relationships with specific interested constituencies and NGOs, such as ILO Better Work, and other such global organizations.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
  • 10+ years of experience driving ethical/responsible sourcing within global supply chains and/or sourcing operations.
  • Experience in project/program management as it relates to social management systems, human rights and labor programs.
  • Expertise in regional and international labor standards (e.g., ILO, SLCP, BetterWork, BSCI, SMETA, etc.)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience influencing key stakeholders both internal and external.
