• Job description:

The role of Communication and Advocacy Lead is a new and important addition to LTL. The primary goal will be to increase brand visibility through effective communications across offline and digital platforms and brand related media. The Communication and Advocacy Lead will manage independent projects that are based on the context and need for the organization, programs, and leadership.

Reporting to the Board of Director of Live to Love, you will have a key role in supporting LTL’schapters across the globe and represent the organization among all stakeholders. Along with supporting and helping us develop our existing programmes and campaigns, a key part of this role will be to help us identify future engagement opportunities, provide internal leadership and strengthen and deepen existing stakeholder relationships as well as cultivate new ones. You will be a key point of contact for our organization and take a proactive role in building a new team to achieve the mission and vision of the organization.

• Key responsibilities:

  • -  Government engagement: scout for unique opportunities to engage simultaneously with government officials from key ministries (MHA, MEA, MHRD, etc.) and leading NGOs working in areas similar to LTL/PDCT while also working with other key stakeholders such as academia, think tanks, researchers.

  • -  Plan and attend regular government and other stakeholder meetings at both national and state level – involves travelling to various site and cities including international travels.

  • -  Project execution and management: ensure effective and efficient program execution such as manage the Kung-Fu Nuns activities identify new opportunities for the nuns on global platforms and monitor achievements of milestones and deliverables committed.

  • -  Build and maintain relationships: attend conferences/events and participate on panels/talks to present LTL/PDCT impact and goals on its key areas of concern.

  • -  Fund raising: identify and prepare potential opportunities for raising funds for the organization and create campaigns or government based activities within workplans being submitted to new and existing funders.

  • -  Content creation: lead and generate content on various campaigns of the organization and produce written materials for knowledge management and virtual platforms.

  • -  Draft reports, press releases, blog posts, and other content to advance the principal messages of individual projects and the organization as a whole.

    • Track social media trends at all times. Ideate and design creatives for social media platforms as and when required.

    • -  Organize events, conferences, study tours, and conclaves as when required.

    • Required Skills:

    • -  Ability to bridge the gap between the non-profit and government ecosystem. A sound understanding of social/gender issues, civil society advocacy, change campaigns and communications

    • -  Ability to diplomatically handle sensitive situations with target audiences and integrate diverse information from varied sources

    • -  Adequate sense of knowledge about international affairs and keenness to understand geo- political aspects

    • -  Demonstrate ability to build and maintain internal and external networks and create partnership opportunities with stakeholders

    • -  Strong inter-personal skills with a demonstrated ability to network and present to various stakeholders

    • -  A team player who is committed and keen to assume wider team and leadership responsibilities

    • -  Ability to transition seamlessly from engaging with partners on collaboration, to planning and executing projects to day to day operations

    • -  This is a roll-up-your-sleeves kind of role and the ideal candidate should be result oriented with a strong sense of ownership

    • -  Remains calm in stressful situations

    • Additional Desirable Skills:

    • -  Basic audio/visual editing skills, including working with Adobe Premier and Audacity

    • -  Basic knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and InDesign

    • Key Eligibility Criteria:

    • -  Graduate/Post Graduate in Liberal Arts, Business Management, Mass Communication/ Journalism or Allied fields

    • -  Proven experience in a political, government, policy or regulatory environment

    • -  2-4 years of experience in administrative role reporting directly to upper management/

      communication role/ digital media

    • -  Fluency in English and Hindi

    • -  Pleasant and confident personality, leadership qualities, self-learner, nimble, self-motivator,

      and ability to stretch and deliver at short notices

    • -  Excellent written and presentation skills and ability to provide insight and develop creative

      proposals to build strategies for external engagement

      • Compensation:

    Negotiable as per experience

These Kung-Fu nuns are also the subject of a BBC documentary and serve as role models of female physical, spiritual, and mental strength.
