About The Organization:
National Bureau of Plant Genetic Resources Thrissur was established in 1977.It is responsible for collection and evaluation of germplasm of southern peninsular region with particular emphasis on spices and plantation crops. The NBPGR Thrissur mandate is for plant genetic resources related activities in the south western peninsular region of India comprising southern Western Ghats in the States of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Goa and the Union Territories of Lakshadweep and Andaman & Nicobar (A&N) Islands.
Applications invited for Department of Biotechnology Funded project" Generating genomic resources for facilitating genetic enhancement on selective Vigna species and horse gram" for a period of one year and extendable upto Oct 2021

Emoluments: per month Rs. 25000/- +HRA per month for 1st and 2ndyear and Rs28,000/- + HRA per month from3rd year onwards
Age: Upper age limit (on date of advertisement) is 35 years (men) and 40 years (women)
Qualifications and Experience:
- Essential Qualification: M. Sc. In Agriculture / Horticulture from a recognized University with specialization in Genetics and/or Plant Breeding with first division / 60% marks / equivalent grade point average. OR
- PhD in Botany from a recognized University with specialization in Genetics and/or Plant Breeding / with first division / 60% marks/ equivalent grade point average. OR
- M.Sc. in Botany or Genetics and Plant Breeding with first division/60% marks/ equivalent overall grade point average along with NET pass.
- Desirable Qualification: Working experience in the field of Genetics and Plant Breeding and molecular work.
