About the Organization:
Wildlife Institute of India (WII) is an autonomous institution under the Ministry of Environment Forest and Climate change, Government of India. WII carries out wildlife research in areas of study like Biodiversity, Endangered Species, Wildlife Policy, Wildlife Management, Wildlife Forensics, Spatial Modeling, Eco development, Habitat Ecology and Climate Change.
Minimum of 60% marks in M.Sc./M.A. in Wildlife Science, Forestry, Natural Resource Management, Life Science and related biological sciences, Global Environment and Climate Change Law as well as other Social Sciences
Preference will be given to candidates willing to carry out rigorous field work under harsh conditions. Prior experience of working in any other research project will be an added advantage.
Age: Not exceeding 30 years as on the date of interview.
Emoluments: Rs. 32,000 + HRA
The job involves extensive field work with respect to biodiversity assessment that includes vegetation sampling, camera trapping for animal population monitoring, sampling of herepetofauna, socio economic survey in the study area followed by data analysis and report writing. The work also involves liasoning with officials of Chattishgarh Forest Department and other line agencies.
Duration: One year
Location of Project site: Surguja Forest Division, Chattishgarh
