Job Description

WWF-India, one of the largest conservation organizations, engaged in wildlife and nature conservation in the country, invites applications from candidates with an inherent sensitivity towards the conservation of nature and environment, to work as the Senior Programme Officer – Programme Management & Communications.

The Job Profile

Programme & Project Management 

  • Support and assist the coordinating lead in developing and implementing the 50th year celebration plan for WWF- India and defining milestones to monitor the progress of all initiatives defined under the plan
  • Extend support to the core working group in collection of data/ information from various programmatic and non-programmatic area.
  • Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders for purpose of data gathering, information dissemination and work plan implementation. 
  • Coordinating and organizing events, workshops, field visits to support the purpose. 

Communication

  • Assisting the coordinating lead in conceptualization, development and broadcasting of communication material in accordance with the work plan. 
  • Lead the documentation and communication of the conservation portfolio of WWF India over 50 years. Coordinating with both Secretariat and Field teams for content generation. 
  • Collect, analyze and collate information gathered from various sources in the form of change/impact stories 
  • Leading internal and external online campaigns to amplify the reach and impact of WWF India’s work.
  • Coordinating with the marketing and communication team to actionize the communication strategy related to the 50th year celebration.
  • Managing periodic reporting and communication with external donors.

 External and Internal Partnership Management 

  • Facilitating the smooth execution of the work plan by providing efficient support to the multi-disciplinary core group.
  • Taking lead in forging internal partnership with other programmatic and non- programmatic areas, in both Secretariat and Field teams to form functional groups/teams for planning and execution of key thematic tracks related to the main event.
  • Maximizing the involvement and participation of internal stakeholders in all initiatives.
  • Proactively identifying external partners/agencies who are willing to collaborate with WWF- India in various initiatives that will be identified as part of the 50th year celebration work plan.

Qualifications, Experience and competencies required

  • Post graduate degree in Environment Studies/Rural Management/ Development Studies
  • Degree/Diploma in development communications will be an added advantage
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of suitable models for salary fixing vis a vis JDs / Level of the position in the hierarchy for talent hiring
  • Excellent team working skills for coordination with internal teams and the external stakeholders to achieve results.
  • Proven track record of talent acquisition
  • Results driven approach with out of the box thinking to identify channels for talent hunt in conservation sector
  • Past experience/ knowledge of optimization of levels/ grades in the organization for the levels structure
  • Knowledge of suitable models for salary fixing vis a vis JDs / Level of the position in the hierarchy for talent hiring
