In order to support Public sector IC rollout, Abt will provide onsite capacity building and service strengthening in district and sub-district facilities to improve uptake of Antara and client satisfaction. The project will support the injectable users through a telephone based counselling service called Care line for follow up and continuation. Abt is seeking an experienced public health specialist for strengthening Facility readiness and client satisfaction through ongoing onsite capacity building for DMPA services at public health facilities in 5 states. And also support regular training and quality assurance for Careline telecounselling for Antara.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Support Technical Team in capacity building of internal and external clients on family planning methods, contraceptive technology, counseling skills and other relevant areas
  • Liaison/coordinate with State/District level Government officials for smooth conduct of  activities
  • As a member of Abt team, carry out On-Site facility based strengthening of Quality MPA/FP services in public health facilities and provision of necessary technical inputs
  • Regular documentation of the visits and sharing the reports and presentations as required by the teams
  • Provide support to the technical team during regular capacity building and quality assurance activities for the project’s “Antara Careline,” – a telephonic service providing follow up counseling to DMPA clients of the public sector
  • Provide regular technical inputs for developing /uploading of technical content in project’s Dimpa Mobile App for networked private providers
  • Represent the Dimpa project in state/district level meetings with government officials as required /requested by CoP
  • Participate in meetings of project /technical team as and when required
  • Undertake any other technical work related to quality of MPA service provision, as assigned by CoP

Preferred Skills / Prerequisites:

  • Post graduate in Ob/Gyn/Community Medicine/Public health/Health Management/MPH with at least 5 - 7 years of experience of working for Family Planning
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of Family Planning and contraceptives, including DMPA
  • Experience of working in Public Sector, with state and national govt
  • Excellent communication skills, with fluency in Hindi and English
  • Excellent presentation skills-both written and verbal
  • Excellent documentation skills and proficiency in MS Office
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment
  • Ability to work on different assignments simultaneously to meet the timelines for assignments
  • Willingness to travel within States/districts for project work
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal guidance and also under guidance
  • Experience of working in high priority States of UP, Bihar, Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Haryana
  • Experience in building capacity of FP Providers (doctors/nurses/counsellors/FLWs) including development of Training Packages

Minimum Qualifications: (8+) years of experience and a master degree OR the equivalent combination of education and experience
