Centre for Public Policy Research: CPPR is a research based public policy think-tank based in Kochi. CPPR works in areas such as research promotion, knowledge dissemination and capacity building. Job Title: Senior Research Associate (Centre for Comparative Studies)

Department: Research and Projects

Location: Kochi

Remuneration: As per Industry standards

Scope of Position: Responsibility to ideate and execute research projects and research papers

Qualifications & Skillset We Need:

  • Post graduation or PhD in economics
  • Good data interpretation skills and possess clarity in research methodology
  • Ability to write research papers and articles effectively
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant (public policy) experience
  • Fluency in English  and Malayalam (added advantage)
  • Interested in interacting with people and good networking skills
  • Good analytical and organization skills
  • Must be a proactive problem solver with demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Organized, able to multi task, high level of attention to detail

Key Responsibilities of The Job:

  • Contributes towards ideation
  • Responsible for generating content for all projects and research initiatives within the CCS
  • Responsible for assisting  the supervisor in completion of all programmatic activities (Research and Projects)
  • Responsible for guiding the subordinates to coordinate centre specific public events like workshops, conclaves, seminars etc
  • Responsible for management of internship programs
  • Ensure that data collected through research tools is complete, accurate and comprehensive
  • Interpret and analyze policies, public issues, legislation, and/or the operations of governments, businesses, and organizations
  • Consult with government officials, civic bodies, chambers of commerce and industries, research agencies, media, political parties and others concerned with the subject
  • Maintain current knowledge of government policy decisions with respect to the research subject
  • Evaluate programs and policies related to the subject
  • Reviewing and analysing media coverage, public opinion surveys and expert opinions from subject matter experts, government representatives and political consultants
  • Present research results by writing reports, giving presentations, and publishing articles
  • Develop and test theories, using information from interviews, newspapers, periodicals, case law, historical papers, polls, and/or statistical sources
