About the Organization

Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology is a constituent college of Sikkim Manipal University, under the state legislation act of 1995 and approved by UGC.  Established in 1997, SMIT is part of the renowned Manipal Group that has made its mark in the field of education and health services in India and abroad. About the Conference

The Department of Civil Engineering at SMIT is going to organize its second international conference, Down to Earth (DTE 2025), focused on Natural Hazards: Risk Analysis and Mitigation. This event will take place from November 13th to 15th, 2025, at SMIT in Sikkim, India. The conference aims to bring together leading experts, researchers, and professionals to tackle critical challenges related to climate change, disaster resilience, and risk mitigation. Participants will explore innovative strategies for assessing and mitigating hydrological, geotechnical, and earthquake hazards while integrating engineering innovations for natural hazard assessment. Additionally, discussions will emphasize environmental hazards, disaster-resilient infrastructure, and sustainable solutions for water security and environmental risk management.
