About the Organization

Tata Steel Foundation has over hundred years of shared context with tribal communities. Samvaad – Tata Steel Foundation's ecosystem on tribal identity – emerged in 2014 and since then, has been emerging as a platform to represent communities and lend voices to culture, heritage, and development perspec ti ve of triba l communities from across the country. In a span of ten years, it has emerged as the single-largest ecosystem that encourages dialogue, discussion, and dissent, and celebrates the very essence of being a tribal person.

About the Fellowship

Samvaad Fellowship seeks to extend Samvaad footprints across the nation through promoting tribal culture as ideated by the tribal communities themselves. It is an initiative to foster a youth peer group which drives positive change by encouraging community-based action research on tribal culture and heritage, propelled by a network of like-minded individuals.

The fellowship will encompass initiatives which are aligned towards conservation of any indigenous practice from tribal culture particularly on language, art, rituals and customs which are vulnerable to being lost resulting in an adverse impact the unique identity of the community.

Eligibility

• Samvaad Fellowship is open only to applicants belonging to Scheduled Tribe across India, the applicant should be between 18-40 years of age as on 31st August, 2025

How to Apply

Applicants will have to submit (a) photo; (b) Identification card as a proof of identification, age and address and (c) Caste Certificate through email at samvaad.fellowship@tatasteelfoundation.org
