About the Organization

As the charitable and philanthropic arm of Motorola Solutions, the Motorola Solutions Foundation partners with organizations around the world to create safer cities and thriving communities. We focus on giving back through strategic grants, employee volunteerism and other community investment initiatives. Our strategic grants program supports organizations that offer first responder programming and technology and engineering education, and align to our values of accountability, innovation, impact and inclusion.

About the Grant

The Motorola Solutions Foundation, which has donated more than $100 million in the last 10 years, aims to partner with organizations that are creating safer cities and thriving communities, and prioritizes under-resourced populations within the three focus areas below:

• Technology and engineering education
• First responder programming
• Blended first responder programming and technology/ engineering education programs

Evaluation requirements:

Like you, the Foundation is steadfast in driving positive change. We do so by working closely with our grant partners to measure everything we do, ensuring we remain focused on the right objectives and delivering impact outcomes aligned with our purpose. As such, we prioritize support for partners that are able to demonstrate how their program provides measurable change through impact reporting.

Grant request maximum*: $50,000

Overarching priorities:

• Reach under-resourced populations within our focus areas below
• Leverage robust partnerships with other nonprofit organizations and institutions
• Support organizations that exhibit strong financial health
• Support organizations with data-driven evaluation methods, including quantifiable metrics

Grant areas of focus:

As a corporate foundation, our giving furthers the philanthropic goals of the business, with a narrow focus on programs that support first responders and technology and engineering education.

First responder programming: We support first responders via programs that provide mental wellness and stress management training, scholarships to families of fallen first responders, safety preparedness to schools and leadership development for under-resourced groups.

Technology & engineering education: From engaging students through hands-on engineering activities like computer science, coding and robotics to providing scholarship and workforce placement for under-resourced groups, we’re committed to creating opportunities for future innovators.
