About the Organization

The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), Government of India has designated CEPT University as a Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Urban Planning and Design in December 2023. CEPT University’s CoE is housed within CEPT Urban Planning and Design Foundation (CUPDF), a not-for-profit company of CEPT University, Ahmedabad.

The main objective of CUPDF is to undertake action research and capacity building across cities and states. Its focus is on enhancing the effectiveness of urban planning and design by identifying urban problems, generating research-based insights and informing cities with tailored solutions to support the implementation of urban projects.

Job Description/ Responsibilities

The Associate - Training Programs will play a key role in designing and coordinating the delivery of high-quality training and executive programs at CUPDF. The role involves working closely with faculty, researchers, government officials, and industry experts to conceptualize, plan, develop and execute learning initiatives aimed at strengthening capacity in urban planning and design across Indian cities.

The position requires strong program management and organizational skills, as well as the ability to effectively coordinate the training content development and ensure its successful delivery. The candidate will be required to engage with external stakeholders, including MoHUA, other Centres of Excellence (CoEs), and training institutes, while also working closely with internal stakeholders such as CEPT Professional Programs (CPP), CEPT Research and Development Foundation (CRDF), and CEPT University faculty.

The candidate will be responsible for:

• Coordinating the delivery of training and executive education programs for CUPDF.
• Working with faculty members, practitioners, industry experts, etc. to develop program content and structure
• Managing program logistics, including participant communication, and regular coordination.
• Supporting curriculum design, preparation of training material, coordinating with speakers and participants, and documentation of program outcomes.
• Liaising with government agencies and professional bodies for customized training needs.
• Monitoring program quality and collecting feedback to ensure continuous improvement of training initiatives.
• Willingness to travel for program delivery and coordination as required.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• Post-graduate degree in Urban Planning, Urban Management or related fields.
• 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in training program management or capacity-building initiatives is preferred.
• Good understanding of the urban planning and design ecosystem of organizations in India.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate and execute professional training or learning programs.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in engaging with diverse stakeholders, including government officials, academia, industry and practitioners.
• Capacity to work independently as well as within multi-disciplinary teams.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.
