About the Organization

The Ministry of Rural Development set up Bharat Rural Livelihoods Foundation (BRLF), Government of India (GOI) as an independent organization under the Societies Registration Act to facilitate civil society action in partnership with State and Central Government, to transform livelihoods and lives of rural households, with an emphasis on women, particularly in the Central Indian Tribal Region. BRLF is a unique and first-of-its-kind initiative. The Foundation is a partnership between Government on the one hand and private sector philanthropies, and public and private sector undertakings (under Corporate Social Responsibility) on the other. Major functions of BRLF are fostering strategic partnerships with state govt for improving program outcomes, providing financial grants to Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) to meet their human resource and institutional costs for up-scaling of proven interventions, investing in institutional strengthening of smaller CSOs, capacity building of professional human resources working at the grassroots, and to create a Knowledge Hub for the sector.

Job Description

The Gender Integrator will lead and support BRLF’s efforts to mainstream gender across all projects, programs, and institutional operations. They will work closely with program teams, partners, and stakeholders to ensure that gender equity and inclusion are deeply embedded into the design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of livelihood interventions.

Job Responsibilities

  • Integrate gender analysis into project planning, design, and proposal development.
  • Support partners and field teams to implement gender-responsive interventions.
  • Identify gender-specific barriers and develop strategies to overcome them.
  • Develop training modules and conduct gender sensitization workshops for staff, partners, and community leaders.
  • Mentor and build capacities of partner organizations on gender mainstreaming.
  • Design gender-sensitive indicators for project monitoring.
  • Lead and support gender audits and gender-focused evaluations.
  • Document best practices, lessons learned, and success stories related to gender integration.
  • Liaise with government bodies, civil society organizations, and donors to promote genderequitable development.
  • Represent BRLF in relevant gender forums, networks, and partnerships.
  • Promote gender equity within BRLF’s own operations and HR policies.
  • Support the creation of a gender policy for BRLF if not already existing..

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

  • Postgraduate/Bachelor’s degree in Gender Studies, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or related fields.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience in gender integration roles, preferably in rural development programs.
  • Familiarity with donor-funded projects and reporting requirements.

 Skills and Competencies:

  • Deep understanding of gender issues in rural India, particularly in tribal and marginalized communities.
  • Proven experience in gender mainstreaming within large-scale development programs.
  • Strong facilitation, training, and capacity-building skills.
  • Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in diverse teams and multi-stakeholder environment.
