Job Description

The Centre for Social and Economic Progress (CSEP) is seeking to hire an early-career economist as a Research Analyst/Associate with a deep interest in conducting policy-relevant research on the Indian economy. The successful candidate will be part of a meritocratic organisation, which aims to contribute to policy discourse through independent and credible research. The selected candidate will have the unique opportunity to work closely with a well-recognised policymaker who has held senior leadership roles in the government, central bank, and international organisations, and has also taught at an Ivy League university.  The position will require both desk and field research, and travel is a possibility.

Job Responsibilities

• Summarising the relevant existing literature succinctly.
• Conduct data analysis with other members of the team.
• Think about key economic policy issues.
• Help the Centre in organising events, seminars, etc.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• Advanced degree in Economics from a premier institute (Master’s; experience in the area preferred).
• Strong quantitative and writing skills, preferably demonstrated in relevant and recent publications.
• Working Knowledge of STATA/R and Excel
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
