About the Organization
The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) was established in 1936 as the Sir Dorabji Tata Graduate School of Social Work. In 1944, it was renamed as the Tata Institute of Social Sciences. The year 1964 was an important landmark in the history of the Institute, when it was declared Deemed to be a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act (UGC), 1956.
Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience
- Applicants must have a master’s degree in social sciences or law with adequate knowledge on forest, land and wildlife laws, policy, and institutions.
- Ability to analyse, document project reports, write policy briefs, case laws and field insights.
- Ability to conduct field work in rural and tribal areas independently
- Ability to coordinate with government and civil society groups and organise training and capacity building programs independently.
- Basic skills in excel, SPSS, GPS and GIS
- Candidates must be well-versed in English, and Marathi for the Maharashtra position and Hindi for Chhattisgarh position.
Salary
Rs. 50,000 to 55,000 (Consolidated)
