Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Analyst – Climate Mitigation to strengthen and grow our climate vertical. This role will support business development, program management, knowledge creation, and technical delivery in climate mitigation, carbon markets, and energy transition. The position offers exceptional exposure to global climate policy, finance, and technology practices.

The Climate Change and Sustainability practice at IPE Global has substantial experience delivering multiyear, high-impact programmes. These programmes are supported by leading donors and foundations and implemented in partnership with coveted research institutions, civil society organisations, and public institutions. The Senior Analyst will work with a team of high-performing professionals.

Job Responsibilities

Technical, Data & Research Contributions (20%)

  • Conduct data-driven research and quantitative analysis on mitigation strategies, carbon markets, and low-carbon technologies.
  • Apply data analytics (including MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) for assessments, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Develop analytical frameworks and monitoring tools for climate projects.
  • Track climate policy and regulatory developments at national and global levels.

Practice Building & Thought Leadership (10%)

  • Support growth of the mitigation vertical through knowledge management, partnership building, and visibility initiatives.
  • Author content, knowledge articles, blogs, presentations—to strengthen IPE Global’s position in climate mitigation.

Business Development & Proposal Writing (30%)

  • Identify new business opportunities and track tenders in the climate mitigation sector.
  • Support bid planning (compliance, internal/partner coordination, documentation).
  • Draft and review technical & financial proposals, concept notes, pitch decks, and marketing collateral.
  • Building quality consortiums by understanding existing capabilities and experience, bringing together a relevant team to fulfil prospective client objectives and goals, and assisting team members in winning business with identified leads.
  • Contributing to weekly/monthly/annual presentations, including events in Business Development updates, strategy meets, etc, when required.

Programme Management & Communications (40%):

  • Coordinate with project implementation teams to ensure the quality and timeliness of deliverables.
  • Support project management, workplan/schedule preparation, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Draft reports, policy briefs, and knowledge products related to climate mitigation.
  • Organise capacity-building and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Work in close coordination with project teams and undertake quality delivery.
  • Conduct desk and field research and lead in creating reports, presentations, issue/ policy briefs, and articles.
  • Develop appropriate communication plans and collaterals to showcase IPE Global’s work.
  • Build, structure, and develop knowledge to share internally, within the organisation, and at the ecosystem level.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

  • Master’s degree in Climate Change, Environmental Studies, Economics, Public Policy, Energy, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years’ relevant experience, preferably in consulting, research, or program implementation.
  • Demonstrated expertise in business development, proposal writing, and bid management.
  • Strong program management, report writing, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); knowledge of Power BI, Stata, or R preferred.
  • Solid understanding of climate mitigation, carbon markets, renewable energy, or low-carbon technologies.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and writing abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in multi-disciplinary teams

Professional Attributes:

  • Strong analytical skills and knowledge of mixed-method research approaches (qualitative and quantitative) for policy evaluation, sectoral financial analysis, and climate risk assessments. Analytical Problem-Solving Skills: Displays analytical thinking by identifying, defining, and analysing information, situations, and problems. Arrives at viable solutions through a variety of approaches. Demonstrates critical thoughts, methodical review of implications, intuition, and rational conclusions.
  • Familiarity with qualitative literature review techniques and analysis software is preferred.
  • Demonstrated interest in policies and financing mechanisms for climate change adaptation, resilient infrastructure, disaster management, and allied sectors.
  • Proficiency in using advanced Microsoft Excel and quantitative tools for financial modeling and socio-economic analysis.
  • Previous experience developing proposals for bilateral/multilateral organizations, foundations and philanthropies.

  • Hands-on experience in structuring commercial proposals.
  • Experience of working with Governments and international aid agencies.
  • A fair understanding of satellite imaging and modeling tools that are used for risk assessments.
  • Prior experience in handling and managing climate risks and adaptation/mitigation-related projects.
  • Previous experience in leading proposal development for bilateral/multilateral organizations, foundations, and philanthropies.
