About the Organization
Established in 2007, the National Health Systems Resource Centre, a premier Think Tank for MoHFW, is mandated to assist in policy and strategy development in the provision and mobilization of technical assistance to the states and in capacity building for the Ministry of Health.
Job Responsibilities
The Senior Consultant will be responsible for providing technical and managerial support to the NUHM program. The key responsibilities include:
Data Analysis and Reporting
- Analyzing complex data sets from health facilities and program implementation areas to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities.
- Preparing high-quality, evidence-based reports, policy briefs, and presentations for the Ministry of Health and other stakeholders.
- Developing and managing databases and monitoring frameworks using MS Excel and other relevant tools.
Technical and Programmatic Support
- Providing expert advice on the planning, implementation, and monitoring of NUHM activities.
- Developing guidelines, training modules, and other documents to support program implementation at the state and city levels.
- Liaising with government officials, development partners, and other organizations to ensure effective coordination and achievement of program goals.
Documentation and Coordination
- Using MS Word to draft official correspondence, meeting minutes, and technical documents.
- Creating compelling presentations with MS PowerPoint to communicate program progress and findings to diverse audiences
- Ensuring all program documentation is maintained systematically for easy access and review.
Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience
- A postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline such as Public Health, Health Administration, Community Health, or an equivalent field from a recognized university.
Skills and Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in the health sector, with a focus on public health programs or health systems strengthening
- Demonstrated proficiency in using the Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint, for creating professional documents, data analysis, and presentations
- Proven experience in writing technical reports, analyzing health data, and presenting findings to various stakeholders
Desirable Qualification and Skills
- A medical degree (MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS) would be an asset
- A Ph.D. or M.Phil. in a related field would also be an advantage
- Prior experience working with central or state government health departments, particularly within the National Health Mission (NHM) framework.
- Formal certification or successful completion of short-term courses in data analysis or MS Office applications.
- Experience with statistical analysis software such as STATA, R, or SPSS.
- Published research or reports in the field of public health or health systems.
Salary
Rs.90,000/- to Rs.1,50,000/-
