Position Summary

The Sr. Manager – FPO will lead the strengthening of Farmer-Producer Organizations (FPOs) across West Bengal and North East India. This role will focus on improving governance, operational efficiency, market access, and women’s participation in farmer institutions, while ensuring program compliance, donor engagement, and sustainability. The position requires strong leadership, program management, and agribusiness expertise to build resilient farmer-led enterprises.

Job Responsibilities

FPO Strengthening & Governance

• Support FPOs in governance, compliance, licenses, and business planning.
• Enhance women farmers’ participation and leadership roles in FPOs.
• Build farmer capacity through training, workshops, and exposure visits.

Market Linkages & Value Chain Development

• Design and implement strategies for market linkages, supply chains, branding, and revenue growth.
• Facilitate partnerships with buyers, traders, processors, and institutional markets.
• Explore digital and innovative solutions for FPO market access.

Program Management & Partnerships

• Lead climate-resilient agriculture and FPO development initiatives.
• Manage project budgets, donor proposals, and resource mobilization.
• Coordinate with government agencies, CSR partners, NGOs, and research bodies for program collaboration.

Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting

• Develop M&E frameworks and ensure compliance with donor requirements.
• Prepare timely project reports, dashboards, and impact assessments.
• Provide guidance and regular progress reviews to field teams.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• Graduate/Postgraduate in Business Management, Rural Development, Agriculture, or Social Development.

Experience:

• 6–8 years overall, with 5+ years in FPO development, agri-marketing, or value chain projects.
• Flexible to 4–5 years for candidates with demonstrated experience in FPO strengthening and field leadership.

Skills:

• Strong knowledge of FPO operations, agri-marketing, and value chains.
• Project design, execution, and donor proposal writing.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, reporting, and documentation.
• Excellent leadership, mentoring, and stakeholder engagement abilities.

Good to Have:

• Experience in donor-funded projects (e.g., NABARD, CSR).
• Knowledge of agroecology, SHGs, and women’s group empowerment.

Reporting Structure

• Reports To: Deputy General Manager – Kolkata
• Direct Reports: 8–12 field staff and coordinators across West Bengal & North East

Travel Requirements

• 40–50% travel for field supervision, training, and partnership engagement.

Compensation

• Annual CTC: ₹6–7 Lakhs per annum (Fixed)
• Additional Benefits: Variable Pay + Commitment Bonus (Compensation will be aligned with experience, qualifications, and current salary)
